Artwork Specifications

Designing your own? If you supply your own artwork, it should comply with the following, or there is a standard fee $55.00 per hour, or pro-rata, for us to bring it to print-ready specifications.

Business Cards

  • Canvas size: 94 x 58mm (Finished size = 90 x 54mm)
  • Business Cards must have a 2mm bleed on all sides - left & right,  top & bottom.
  • All text, logos, images and borders must be kept at least 3mm inside the finished size.
  • Background designs must bleed right to edge
  • 300DPI
  • CMYK only (No RGB, No Pantones)
  • No crop marks


To make this easier, please email us, telling us which program you are using, and we will email you a free template to use. This will help ensure the size, spacing and colour profiles are in line with what is required.

All other Artwork

  • 2mm bleed on each side
  • All text must remain at least 5mm from the edge.
  • Background must bleed right to edge
  • 300DPI
  • CMYK
  • No crop marks

Finished Sizes

  • DL - 99 X 210 mm (DL Cards, Brochures, With-Compliments Slips & Envelopes)
  • A6 - 105 x 148 mm
  • A5 - 148.5 X 210 mm
  • A4 - 210 X 297 mm
  • A3 - 297 x 420 mm


Acceptable FILE TYPES

All artwork files must be 300DPI resolution. Nothing less than 300DPI can go to print.

We accept the following file types:

  • .EPS (Illustrator)
  • .AI (Illustrator)
  • .PSD (Photoshop - 300DPI)
  • .PDF (High Quality setting only)
  • .TIFF
  • .JPG


** Please note: We do not accept MS Publisher files.

(Other files types may be possible, please discuss with us.) Please note, we do not accept MS Publisher files under any circumstances.

COLOURS

All artwork must be created in, or converted to CMYK.
(No RGB files & no Pantone files.)

TYPE / FONTS

All text must be either flattened, or converted to outlines.


Reverse type (white / light on black / dark) must be at least 9 point bold in standard-sized font. Smaller type runs the risk of the darker colour bleeding into it, rendering it unreadable. We will accept no responsibility for this whatsoever in supplied artwork. Please ensure your text is big enough to avoid this happening.
